Mabel 61s

The Mabel ’61 was inspired by a client who asked me to replace an Abigail Ybarra-wound Fender pickup. Working from measurements of the original, I set out to faithfully reproduce its specifications—and the Mabel ’61 grew from there.

After comparing my replacement with the originals, he said he could hear no difference. In his words, he was “over the moon” with the result.

Each pickup is hand-wound with heavy Formvar wire, using a careful, hands-on winding approach inspired by the original.
